It is worth noting that something like 60% of all the worlds oil is found in carbonate reservoirs, including most of the oil in the Middle East and also the giant Ekofisk oil field in the North Sea, operated by ConocoPhillips (the first oil field I worked on as an engineer). There are many ways to stimulate carbonate reservoirs to improve flow characteristics, however I know nothing more about the Trident reservoir than what GALP has chosen to publish. So can't comment any further.
