Nightstalker, I will take a better look tonight, but after a cursory glance the one before the last was a drop which makes up for the rise, the one before that was due to a changing no. of shares on issue. The key for me is there doesn’t seem to be a significant player in the short agreements on top of hedge funds, normal fund managers fidelity, state street and brokers MQG, CBA, JPM, GS, Citi, I personally believe too much is being read into it. The simple answer is that MS makes money by lending the stock and they are one of the few that have available stock then why not. Should they believe in the LYC story hell pick a few more up. The shorters have to buy back at some point.
My dribble comment is in relation to a well orchestrated manipulation of the price. Looking at the brokers that were active last week MS didn’t seem to appear that frequently, CBA apparently stood out, tells me it is full of day traders. ASIC have been on the war path so I suggest if your that confident tell them.
