Usually such matters are automatic but it's not such a bad idea to register a protest this way. They, as much as anyone else, could have ensured that good practices occurred. It doesn't even matter whether Thurman was there last year as it wasn't she who addressed the over-exuberant and misleading communications. That relied on Dirk making a stand.

As to the second strike, it wouldn't be hard to come up with alternative candidates. There are plenty of us who have good contacts with senior Board members who can help with names. Surely you wouldn't contemplate allowing the Board off the hook simply because you were worried about that. Why be passive rather than actively taking part in a public opportunity to exact accountability.
