muzzarati (for when you get back), I had a similar situation a while back, when I had a "bank error in my favour" from trading, as someone is probably having in your case- if the shares have gone, then someone will have money not belonging to them. In my situation, I had sold some shares, but they continued to remain in my account, so I sold them again. The problem was that, because I sold them twice, one person was not going to have them delivered. One set of shares and two sales- hmmm. (I didn't know!) So I get a call, and the solution is that I had to buy them back. I had two lots of money, so buying them back somehow worked. The bank guy said the bank had no idea how it happened, and he had never seen it happen, but I had to buy them before settlement of whichever person was settling. It's kind of confusing, but that's how it got resolved.
