You really bring back some lovely memories with that post.

I was born 46 in Ipswich. All my holidays as a kid were spent at Kirra - the *Girraween Motel most of them ( a family show with pianola and singalongs et al). I loved the water - swimming, surfing, board riding (first board in 1962 - all 10ft6inches of it weighing a ton) and spearfishing in the later years off Schnapper Rocks, Kirra Point, Tweed River and Kingscliffe. Roller skating at Tweed Heads in my young years. In my later teenage years, Nth Coast off Pt Cartwright, Rainbow Beach et al board riding and spear-fishing.

Tenting at Kirra, first alcohol on Coolangatta Beach one night, lost my innocence far too young on Greenmount Hill another night .
