Well young fella you had it good. I'm so old our phone had a crank that you wound up to get throught to someone at an exchange or you dialed a code (one ring, two rings etc) if you wanted someone on the party line. We couldn't record a song but you could sing along with them using a booklet. TV was a long way down the track but we did have a radio that worked most of the time because we had a long wire 50 ft long as an ariel. Walking, did plenty of that. I don't remember counting steps. Food was for eating (when you could get it). Didn't have a camera so taking a picture of it wasn't on the agenda. Didn't have a bicycle but did have a horse. Didn't need a helmet but a saddle would have been nice.
