OPPOSITION Leader Tony Abbott warned breakfast radio listeners this morning that he's a bit of a "grog-monster".

Mr Abbott made the unusual remark on Fitzy and Wippa’s Nova breakfast program today when the radio hosts told him they were disappointed he couldn’t join their Aussie battler boat party on Sydney Harbour tonight.

"I'd probably be too much of a grog-monster for you fellas," he joked when the radio larrikins expressed their regret at his absence.
