Army tendering blunder comes under fire

A MULTIMILLION-dollar tender for essential battleground equipment has been cancelled after allegations that the army's tender process was tainted by bias.
A secret investigation of the awarding of a $20 million contract for backpacks found there was ''perceived bias'' within the Defence Materiel Organisation against an Australian business, which lost out to a multinational defence company.
