If you want to judge dining out by one experience, then go for it. The rest of the world thinks differently.
As to new cars being a waste? Well, maybe. But one visit to some ex. Soviet states or see NZ back forty years and I know what I want :)
I am not talking about looking successful, I am talking about enjoying what one likes in life.
Some people like Restraurant dining and heated seats and some people like growing their own veg. Personally I like both.
But, you cannot travel France and experience a lot of class dining on an annual budget of $40 k, I can tell you.
