You are right jlov3 a couple on with a $200k combined salary can afford to live in a house with a $1 million mortgage. However, they will need to live like they earn $40k.
Whats the point of working so hard that you will have to live in poverty your entire life? Is it all for that fuzzy feeling you own a better than average home?
Your better off buying a home that you can still afford to live comfortably in. Fill it with nice furniture and send your kids to good schools.
