Not sure what the big deal is , once a month I go on a trip with the EV , of about 250kms , then use a public fast charger , takes about 40 minutes to go from 20% charge to 80% charge .
Can lock the car do some shopping while it is getting charged , rest of the time for commuting just charge it overnight on a trickle charger .
Given there is virtually no maintenance needed , only have to wait around 30 minutes for it to be serviced compared to several hours with an EV each year so it balances out on time , and is a lot cheaper to run , with better performance and better for the environment .
