Bit confused and would welcome clarification - what does the HSV vaccine actually aim to do?
I recall hearing it is not a cure ( rid body of virus) some time back; but cannot recall the source or vouch for the reliability.
If this is still correct, then the aim of the vaccine would be to reduce symptom severity and frequency of outbreaks. If this was the case then wouldn't the main competition would be time - as symptoms and severity decrease over time, non-prescription treatments such as low dose aspirin and sodium bicarbonate? I am sure some will be tempted to jump on me for this and so be it. But a lot of money has been thrown at this; however I am still unclear as to what this vaccine is actually aimed at achieving?
BTW - if anyone from Admedus is reading this - then note, I found Admedus immunotherapies has very light-on info on it.
