    I think interest rates being so low is the main driver of house price increases. That and Chinese money which seems to be disappearing over the last 12 months. Unfortunately low interest rates are accompanied by low wage increases. You can't rely on having your debt inflated away anymore as many are now finding out. If inflation/interest rates/inflation remain low then house prices will inevitably drop as people adjust to the new reality.

    Having said that immigration is too high and only those profiting from it or insulated from it, agree with it. I have wealthy friends who think immigration is fine (and allows them to virtue signal) because they are completely insulated from the effects of it and never stop to think of their fellow Australians.

    This country has changed remarkably in the last twenty years or so. In another twenty it will be unrecognisable.
