While these guys were allegedly plotting to attack Holsworthy, unlike the USA where its entry points to their bases are manned by fully armed MPs, ours are manned by un-armed private security types with 2 weeks formal training.

As for when these terrorists got into the base, while 3 RAR is an experienced parachute battalion & 4RAR is a Commando unit, they dont walk around the base with weapons & live ammo... unless they are on the live-fire ranges.

But like I said, our army bases are pretty dispersed so these guys would not have been able to do much damage unless they had the good fortune to find a mess hall during mealtime.

Methinks they were amateur terrorists. Lots of hate but no brains.
