The level of immigration must increase, and this is because at a birth rate of 1.3 Australia cannot sustain its tax base without immigration.
So, you might say, well, why is the birth rate so low, and the simple answer is because the cost of living is so high.
So, you might think that all we have to do then is solve the cost-of-living issue, and that's a great idea, but unfortunately that ship has sailed a long time ago.
Thus, high immigration is here to stay.
