Unfortunately this is true - a franchise is just that a badge - individual ownership of franchise components is not an issue that the domestic populace would be concerned with.
"How deep and how long?" to paraphase Mae West, is the question.
Corporate badged spin doctoring would only reinforce the existence (as opposed to blame deflection) of this tragic event.
An appeal, would only highlight the former.
