BHP & RIO/Vale sp's are now suffering badly as a result of the dam wall failure & resultant catastrophe in South America. Westcott or someone more knowlegeable might like to comment on the reports on the HC BHP threads that the Samarco facility might remain closed for a year or two, and that resultant WH&S & environmental checks might cause further disruptions/closures in SA?
One HC poster claims that the current disruption effects 50% of the worlds iron ore pellet supply - is this correct I wonder? Might this unexpected & nasty event be at all significant in helping to move the SDL negotiations along? Any comments?
