    Have to agree re. Aldi. When our local store opened there were mainly shoppers picking up just a few items, while still doing the bulk of their shopping at Coles/Woolies. These days, there are a LOT of people trundling full trollies around Aldi, i.e. doing their main weekly shop there first, then picking up a few items from other stores.

    Aldi quality is certainly up there with the other major chains, and many prices significantly lower.

    Bring on the competition I say - Coles and Woolies are busy screwing local producers into the ground IMHO. First it was milk, and now local beef producers are getting a crappy deal as these stores exert their influence at the saleyards.
