I don't think too many people are comparing the product, the development process maybe and the surgical procedure for both is nigh on identical.

The announcement impacted Sirtex more than it should have but they have an existing revenue stream from other products whereas Oncosil don't so the ripple effect on Oncosil was inevitable. The decay rate of the underlying radio-active element may well be immaterial to the success of the trials as it was the way in which in-situ radioactivity within the blood vessels addressed a tumour and whether it gave a better result or improved patient prognosis than current practice. OSL might want to revisit its trial programme on the back of the Sirtex results.

However worth noting that Oncosil would have ridden on the back of a successful announcement from Sirtex and unfortunately the announcement had the reverse effect so Oncolis carries the burden of that with the added weight that it only has the one product under development at this point. The flip side being for OSL it is merely a retrace of a weekly spike.
