Mmmm - a bit of a stab in the dark with this theory - maybe it's because the govt is going to sell/auction off some new wireless spectrum (electromagnetic frequencies used for communications)
wireless networks are also growing
Look at Vividwireless and google their achievements and growth
now look at TLS's number of wireless hotspots (see website) - not many at all really (Telstra Wireless Hotspots are available across the Sydney and Melbourne CBDs*. Hotspots can also be found at selected Hotels and Qantas Club Lounges and Hotels across Australia)
- so it comes down to a battle with mkt share again
SO
maybe PIE has seen that Vivid can do it - so why can't they (with leadership from new Board members) - and maybe become the next new telco in this wireless arena - by going into partnership with a cashed up entity? those licences will cost a pretty penny!
ps. I'm not a tech propeller head so apologise first up if my tech stuff is not logical/mixed up etc
cheers
