It's extremely difficult to forecast what may happen in any sort of downturn as humans are insanely unpredictable. What I can say, and this is from working in a financial planning business after the GFC, is a huge number of clients looked to change advisers instead of seeking new advice from the same guy. There was a feeling of wanting a fresh start even though it wasn't really the current advisers fault.
This, of course, is good for IAM assuming the client goes to an IAM adviser. As new clients move they need initial SOA's.....
