I'm finding it hard to locate data on details of what was found at Cap Juby drilled recently nearby to Tao by Genel and Cain Energy. From their websites I can see that it was a 110m oil column at the upper level but heavy oil, although it flowed at over 2,000 bopd. But all they say about the lower target is that they encountered a low porosity reservoir without significant moveable hydrocarbons. Elsewhere I read somewhere that they did get out a few gallons of light sweet crude of 38 API. They don't give any information on how thick the reservoir was though which would be interesting to know for Tao comparison. Has anyone found more than this on Cap Juby?

Implications are that we might expect a similar 110m thick reservoir at the first target Assaka as its in the same part of the reservoir rocks as where they encountered this 110m oil column in Cap Juby. HDR's Chinguetti oilfield which was offshore nearby Mauritania and also had a 110m oil column and around 100 mbbl. Assaka is estimated at around 150 mbbl so the area of trap may be larger. But we had are more in the dark with Trident. At around 450mbbl it must have a lot thicker potential reservoir than the higher Assaka target given that its the same 4-way dip-closure providing trap.
