So if CSE sell their shares in SYR, my assumption is that the CSE share price would then crash (if indeed, anyone is buying) once the record date passes for the special dividend as CSE will no longer have any assets/value? But we will have got the value out of our CSE shares with that dividend...

It's just an intriguing scenario which hasn't and probably will never present itself with any of my other stocks re: the company not having any other operational interests.
