The idea of importing cheap low kilometre vehicles from Japan is appealing, however, one of my kids bought one (Toyota people mover) which was immaculate with low km, but had incessant problems with overheating, because the cooling system was not large enough for the hot conditions here in the west. (travels up and down to Jurien Bay fair bit from Perth to go fishing)
His mechanic mate told him to get rid of it and switch to the equivalent local product (Toyota Tarago) which he did, and has not had any problems since.
So be aware that there are differences between vehicles made for two totally different environments.
