I was holding UMC (United Minerals Corporation) when BHP aquired the company(Takeover).

I recieved a cheque from United Minerals to the value of number of share held x $1.30

No forms to fill out or the like, it was heres the money...

The Management for this company UMC got a sweetner as they had gave themselves many options a year or so before BHP came in with a offer. the opptions had a conversion of $1.75 which BHP had paid to convert so then management had free shares for which they were paid $1.30 each.

UMC management were very much hush hush before the deal, one thing that has been a diference for me with whats happening with GDO is DGO are promoting the possible change of control at every oportunity at UMC it was like snakes in the grass. And belive me when manmagement recommends the deal it's going to happen like it or not....
