Ozzies do not abhor farm work ----- what they abhor is slavery, sexual abuse, sexual harassment, wage abuse, poor accommodation, no accommodation, dishonoring work promises Seems a fair summation. The point of my post was to hopefully hear from someone who may have found a loophole. I haven't seen my wife, she's in Vietnam, since March last year. Got my hopes up when someone mentioned a work visa, but no go. It's just a sad situation for us. Last year March 21, I was in Thailand with my wife. The Viet govt said they would bar citizens of any country with more than 50 cases of covid. I booked a ticket to leave 2 days later. They changed their strategy and barred anyone from coming the day before I was meant to arrive.1 day has cost us 2 years. I used to get comfort from knowing there were others worse off, but not so much now. Anyway, enough of that, puts me on a downer.
