They believe in Benny's powers of healing.....

Manny, the difference being that in Jesus day everyone believed in his power of healing!
(John 12:9-11) Meanwhile, a large crowd of Jews got to know that he was there, and they came not only because of Jesus but also to see Laz′a·rus, whom he had raised up from the dead.  The chief priests now conspired to kill Laz′a·rus also,  since it was because of him that many of the Jews were going there and putting faith in Jesus.
(John 12:19) So the Pharisees said among themselves: “You see that you are not getting anywhere. Look! The whole world has gone after him.”
There were no special props or only a selected following with Jesus, even his enemies conceded he performed miracles.
(Luke 7:11-16) Soon afterward he traveled to a city called Na′in, and his disciples and a large crowd were traveling with him. 12 As he got near the gate of the city, why look! there was a dead man being carried out, the only son of his mother. Besides, she was a widow. A considerable crowd from the city was also with her. 13 When the Lord caught sight of her, he was moved with pity for her, and he said to her: “Stop weeping.” 14 With that he approached and touched the bier, and the bearers stood still. Then he said: “Young man, I say to you, get up!” 15 And the dead man sat up and started to speak, and Jesus gave him to his mother. 16 Now fear seized them all, and they began to glorify God, saying: “A great prophet has been raised up among us,” and, “God has turned his attention to his people.”

Even centuries after Jesus’ death, the writers of the Jewish Talmud continued to acknowledge that Jesus had miraculous powers. They simply questioned the source of those powers. Similarly, when Jesus’ disciples were brought before a Jewish court, the question they were asked was not “Did you perform a miracle?” But they were asked: “By what power or in whose name did you do this?”—Acts 4:1-13.
These miracles served their purpose by demonstrating God's favor had shifted from the Jewish nation to Jesus followers. Following this they were to cease.
(1 Corinthians 13:8) Love never fails. But if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away with; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away with.
