A most of the MN funds out there either use cash of 0% as a hurdle for performance fees. Cash was probably OK a few years ago when rates were say about 5%. But hard to justify these days. It’s the classic problem when the risk free rate is artificially low. And zero is rubbish. Which is why it pays to look at the expected (and actual) return.
