I am not so sure that Handysize shipping costs have reduced (this was the size mentioned by AWC in their second quarter briefing) - although admit I don't know how to find current rates.
I did see somewhere that some shipping size substitution was occurring, where large vessels were used because the rate difference was almost non-existent. However, I understand from doing some work in agriculture exports years ago, that numbers of ports cannot accommodate larger vessels, so once again I'm not sure whether substitution of vessels is an option for AWC
Has anyone got current information on freight costs, and whether AWC have vessel size options?
