big recent developments (biotech)

Here is a run down of recent events:

1) $1.1million R&D Grant Approved for Psoriasis Project.
This is not all that significant financially (although it does help worth around 10% of market cap) but it gives some credit to the technology and probability of working. The governement doesn't give these out easily and the one's I've seen granted are to very reputable discoveries e.g. Novogen's NV-07a skin cream.

2) Biopharmaceutical company Antisense Therapeutics Limited has achieved
an important milestone in its development of a cream therapy for the
skin disease psoriasis.

"We have now shown that a cream containing the antisense compound
ATL1101 can penetrate human psoriasis skin biopsies in the laboratory
and silence the target gene," said Research Director, Dr Christopher
Wraight.

This is important as it proves the drug does work in silencing the required gene in human skin. The next step is human trials.

3) 19th June (Thursday night/Friday morning our time) will see ANP present at the Boston Bio-relationships conference.
