The scaling differences distort trend lines massively. Trend lines drawn on one will be thrown way off if you change scale. Horizontal support and resistance survive.
As with all things TA with scales and formats and indicators, it comes down to perception and preference of the individual; some people use one, some people use both. I personally prefer log view particularly for charting longer term trends and so I stick with it for my analysis, it makes it easier to see the guts of bigger moves.
