Cheers guys, all advice well noted. Will concentrate on just the closes in the mean time. I actually had it plotted just like yours GS a few weeks back, and posted, but the "breakout" didn't result in anything. I assumed I must have got it wrong and it was the wicks I should be concentrating on hence why I changed it. I have experienced slicks thoughts on diagonals this time around with feeling compelled to change it to suit what I thought I saw. As experience develops I'd be less inclined to feel like I had it wrong. Will stick to closes going forward.

I was also in agreement with slick, although we have broken out of the downward trend line, I feel a break of 14c would be the confirmation and will likely see the volume we are looking for.

Only just learning we can have a delayed breakout like this. Would have made me far less confused earlier.
