As far as bots go, yes, sort of. Generally, what a bot, or Algo does, is break up a larger order into many smaller ones according to the rules of those particular execution parameters. Of course there are other types of bot executions, but generally speaking this is all you see intra day. For example, buying 1mill shares at 12c or lower, a bot might break it up into 80 different small trades throughout the day, so while each small part is a trade in its own right, in a sense it is also the partial fill of the main order.

Bots/Algos have a bit of a reputation, and there is plenty of misinformation and blame put on them. While some of it may be true, anyone can access them if they choose to do so. Those tools are available on several retail platforms. With a little bit of research, they can enhance your market execution.
