Anybody born after 1964 must wait till they are 60 before accessing their Super. Access can be obtained between the ages of 55 and 60 for those born before 1964 but I believe it is taxed at a reduced rate. The ATO website explains it all. For everybody though, Super is tax free after 60 for a lump sum or putting it into some type of pension. Once taken out of Super however, if it is reinvested and no longer under the ‘Super’ umbrella (fund or SMSF), any income made from it, such as interest etc, is taxed at certain rates. Best to always see someone for advice.
