Have you considered the proportion of turnover that is influenced by short selling as an altogether separate figure to reported outstanding short positions at the end of a trading day ? Feedback and my opinion only of course but from an analytical perspective some fine tuning and comparison with a stock of similar MC would greatly enhance your dedicated work and efforts.
