My step father used to breed them in the 70's and 80's. Many of the pups went to the Police and security work. He had 2 females and 1 dog. Thena and Venus were the females, Satan the male and he was the dog version of Arnie in his Mr Olympia days. Muscle definition was extreme. Without fail if we were walking Satan, he'd always put himself between us and any other dog.

Quick google, difference between Alsatian's and German Shepherds, not one response saying Alsatian's are a separate breed, plenty of responses that say they are the same breed, and confirmation that they are called Alsatian's in the UK and a few other countries due to any German sentiment around WW1.
