I did exactly that from reading Slicks post over the last couple of years. I have two seperate broker accounts, one for longterm investing(selfweatlh), while also having a trading account(CMC markets). It has made my tax reporting so much easier, especially considering I use sharesight to work out my capital gains/losses each year.
