Yes good post and you're right, never a hot topic but it's an important one.
I've been spending a fair bit of time lately speaking with some very experienced folks in all facets of the market to try and get a better understanding of market gyrations and momentums. It's been fantastic and surprising just how willing these Insto guys are willing to share. Of course it's well known the perils of a high SOI register but to actually hear how the bigger players react to them. With a bit of a chuckle they describe how the lose liquidity is easier to work in comparison to a tight register. Look we've always known this but to hear the casual tone they treat those stocks was eye opening.
Unfortunately T&P a 10/1 isn't enough as you'd still have a 740 mill SOI which is too high IMO. One serious CR and you're back over a Billion again. And to go back to your suggestion, just because an SP may rise, it doesn't change the SOI formula, just the MC.
Anyway, if everyone took off their emotional attachments and looked at this stock with fresh eyes then you may see that the attraction is really lacking with IMU as an overall package. Kind of like sobering up after a fun night.
