For anyone wanting to understand correctly how gaps are calculated, I've quickly put this together.

Once anyone begins using them or reading charts from experienced TA operators then you will soon establish that there can not be any grey areas, there is either a gap or it's been closed. No interpretations. The sun comes up, the sun goes down.

* Always look at a chart from right to left when searching for gaps in charts.
* Gaps are created from the close of day and opening of the next day.
* Intra-day gaps are irrelevant.
* If you are ever conversing with experienced chartists, gaps are based around daily time frames. Monthly gaps - blah blah.



Do all gaps get closed? No they don't.

If you can recall back to when IMU's SP jumped from 6 cents to 10-12 cents leaving 2 gaps behind I stated many times that I didn't believe that the gaps would close as I believed that the stock was re-rating. I also believe that this may be the case with the recent gaps open.
