Good questions.

My mail from a couple attached to insto’s is that everyone is a “cornerstone holder” until they have a need not to be. And that need could be anything from, poor performance, sector out of favour and conversely other sectors providing better projected performances, securing profits or simply overweight in holding.

As I’ve said before, there are some insto’s that specialise in CR’s , nothing about cornerstone, just a quick way for companies to raise capital but the terms are generally well in the favour of the capital provider not shareholders. Those free oppies were a nice sweetener and are quite likely to be still held. Does that fit the “cornerstone” description? Also notice they were never named unlike most “so called” Cornerstone investors.
Seriously, the term cornerstone should never be used as it’s just rubbish.

Keep in mind that the big insto’s required to take a position are still able to adjust that position according to how the stock is playing out. Wouldn’t it be nice for the Bio sector to gain in market sector favour at the same time IMU announcements hit the mark. For them to increase their position would work out very favourably for holders.
But they still have a business to run and need cashflow so their holdings are continually monitored for strengths and weaknesses so obviously some positions would change. They need to remain liquid.
