No, there was no ten foot flame, the flammable gas provided to a classroom for kids mind you would not go further than the nozzle attachment which is about 1 and a half inches.
The biggest flare up or commotion i saw in a the science class room is when we rolled up a table tennis ball in foil and lit it, its like a small smoke bomb but in the classroom - how funny at the time, but so stupid now.
You couldn't get a ten foot flame from a pressurized LPG tank on fire at the local servo.
