Cheers dappa, I cannot disagree with you mate, thankyou. I must have missed where PH's loan was linked to Macquarie, do you have a link?
My understanding of collateral is that the lender would not take any control of PH's shares unless he couldn't meet the agreed on conditions, for example defaulted. Other than the size of the transaction I don't see why this would be different to any other secured loan secured. As long as you continue to meet the conditions the collateral cannot be touched. For someone to lend PH's shares for shorting it would need to be part of terms, which is certainly possible.
