Surely Merial would be interested in having some form of prior regulatory approval for the suitability of their 'product' before submissions to their own regulatory bodies? Plus, commercial trials have to be conducted anyway to establish the growth rates in commercial conditions - and if successful would surely add to Merial's claims if they decide to go ahead with the project.

however, the thing that would ignite IMU is any progress on the bird flu front - even though in a sense it is a sideshow for IMU - the market would respond with great enthusiasm. I've sent emails to CSIRO about any work they are doing on the bird flu thing, but didn't get any new information - perhaps you might like to try.
