re: ytrium imugene will ignite soon ytrium there is already h5n1 vaccines available for chickens however they are not commercially viable. they are live attenuated and expensive to produce and very time consuming to administer.
live vaccines pose the danger of mutating aswell.
the imu/csiro vaccine is not a live attenuated vax. it can be administered in water, spray,ovo or injection.
it is extremely cheap to mass produce and has the major advantage of being able to be given via drinking water. we need to be mindful that a chickens life is only 42 days.
relenza and tamiflu are a bandaid treatment.
The imugene vaccine will stop chooks from getting it. it will stop h5n1 transmissions at the source of spread to humans.
over 90% of human infections have been directly related to contact with domestic poultry.
if imu get this over the line witha successful trial in chickens , this will emulate 1 of the biggest share rises in asx history.
