Absolutely with you there b/dog. What possible reason would anyone have for placing multiple 1 share trades other than to "influence" the days activity. Some would argue it is the auto trades squaring larger orders placed but A) that is pure BS & B) even if that is occasionally the case it could easily be factored in. Try placing a bunch of small orders (and paying for them) and see how long it takes to be suspended for manipulating the market.
