in for a good week for aus tuna industry

After reading through some information provided on the IATTC (inter american trop. tun. comm.), it is clear that they probably already know or will know early this week if the SBT are successful at first feeding. There is a heap of info on yellow fin tuna, which although a diff fish will have similarities with SBT. They quote survival of 1%, which would be excellent if CSS can get close to in the first go. They will be dealing with a large quantity of eggs, prob. over a million, 1% survival being 10,000 fish. Yell. fin tuna grow to 30cm in 6 months from hatching, (they hatch at 2.5mm and 43 micrograms dry weight, so this is a massive growth rate). At 7mm they turn from eating zooplankton to eating fish larvae, so i assume they will use kingfish larvae until they get them onto a dry feed (With atlantic cod they put on dry feed after 4-5 weeks, but they are a cold water fish so prob. have a slower growth rate, would expect SBT to be sooner). They wont want people knowing the timing of critical stages i.e first feeding, metamorphis, when put onto dry feed etc, but they wont be able to hide it as word will spread around the area about how its going. Thus im thinking an announcement on progress late this week, even when something substantial may have already happened on the weekend or early in the week. Im excited, this is going to be big for the australian aquaculture industry and good for the economy. Any thoughts?
