Can someone please tell me why since masks were made mandatory 2 weeks ago the numbers have risen to new daily records in Victoria? It's presumed that the wearing of masks reduces the spread of the virus, so that an infected person passes it on to fewer people. so they would argue that without mandatory mask wearing the situation would be even worse. Also when authorities cite cases, they are referring to known cases or confirmed cases. There will be many more unknown cases in the Victorian community because for many people the symptoms are similar to having a cold and they won't get tested. Additionally I believe that the health authorities and politicians want to instil a sense of fear in the community to combat complacence, so that the health system can cope with the numbers of seriously affected. There is a problem brewing. Health care workers are becoming infected and having to isolate. They have to manage that.

OMG - the whole "it would have been worse" argument. Why don't you just say "I love the leader"?? It is time to open up society and let the virus rip. Have strict protocol around people 70+ This is the generation that live in 2 million dollar homes, get the pension and tell everyone how hard they work.
