im sure CMC offers LYC CFD. Commsec does not because you can only trade around 70 most liquid shares for ASX CFD, whereas under OTC CFD you can trade it. Somehow I was advised by commsec that they stop registration for using OTC so I did not have a chance to trade that.
My guess regarding to the difference is whether the service provider actually has the share to borrow you.
So if it is suddenly removed from the shorting list probably your platform company sold all they have thus not able to lent you any share to trade.
