We have absolutely felt the reduction of staff in rural and remote hospitals. Our facilities rely on a steady stream of locum doctors and agency nurses to fill our rosters. With all the border closures during covid this seriously reduced the pool of available staff.
We have our fingers crossed that when borders open this will relieve the pressure somewhat.
