From my notes, around a year ago FN Arena reported that the NAB analyst in metals and energy was predicting that gold would go down in Oz dollars in calendar 2008.
Instead it reached, and also closed at all-time highs in AUD last night. Most analysts only seem to know the house tunes, they self-servingly ignore any other sounds and as a result they are not forecasters at all. They lose people a lot of money.
